Zamo Mthiyane founder of Pretty Mobile. Zamo holds a Diploma in Electrical Engineering from Technikon Mangosuthu and Bachelor of Technology degree from Tshwane University. He has worked for local PSTN (Telkom SA) as a PABX service technician in 1996, he moved to Transtel Satellite 1997
as service and installation engineer of VSAT terminal, he joined Ericsson SA in 1998 as switch network and dimensioning Engineer where he was responsible for MTN SA and Nigeria switch network planning. He joined Vodacom SA from 2000
as VAS Engineer looking after operation and maintenance and planning of Vodacom VAS platforms; SMSC, Voicemail, WAP GW, IN platforms and data services (3G and GPRS).
Pretty Samuels (CFO since 2006)
Pretty Samuels is the founder of Pretty Mobile. Pretty holds an Accounting Diploma from the Durban University of Technology. She is also a qualified Assessor and Moderator. Her career began as a brand officer for Elements Advertising Agency. She moved to the world of events management and conference production and has worked at the Institute for International Research. She headed up the Conferencing & Training department at Moruo Communications. Her passion for developing skills and co-ordinating events led her to become a Training and Development Manager for the National Film and Video Foundation.
Sibonga Sibiya (Sales and Marketing Executive Director)
S'bonga holds a Diploma in Electrical Engineering from Technikon Mangosuthu, a
Certificate in Marketing Management from Damelin and a Management Advancement
Programme (MAP) from Wits Business School. He has worked for Times Media Ltd
(Johnnic Media) as a Sales Executive, Midi TV (eTV) as a Senior Account
Executive, SABC1 as Sales and Sponsorship Manager (Channel Champion).
S'bonga turned an operational cost into a profit by, for the first time ever at
SABC1, turning the presenter clothing platform into "a fashion showcasing
ramp", and secured sponsorship from Foschini and Markhams. Creatively sold a
product placement opportunity for South Africa's number one soap opera,
Generations. Turned around trade perceptions on local drama series, and in so
doing, made them a viable mechanism for advertisers to target their consumers.
S'bonga ran a highly successful trade campaign on Popstars II, making it a
profitable show by improving the sellout from 60% to over 100%.
Share holders:
Pretty Mobile is a Women empowered company with all the share holders being black South African females. Pretty Samuels is the majority share holder of Pretty Mobile (80%) and Mumsie Zuma holds 20%.
